About Kavya Iyer
A disciple of the legendary Smt. Suguna Purushothaman at the Brhaddhvani Research Centre, Chennai, Kavya is trained in the Trinity compositions (Tyagaraja, Muthuswami Dikshitar, Syama Sastri) and holds a Sangeetha Visharad from Pracheen Kala Kendra. She has performed at the Margazhi Music Season (Music Academy, Narada Gana Sabha), SPIC MACAY events across IITs, and All India Radio Chennai. Kavya's teaching methodology is rooted in authentic Carnatic tradition while using modern tools (notation apps, slow playback) to accelerate learning for beginners.
